Chapter Thirty Three

The guy in jean was limping on the wrong foot! He was putting too much pressure on the leg he was trying to limp on. He was faking a limp!! His leg was fine! He held the walker just to disguise his natural walk!

Shakthi began running towards the guy. He yelled at him and asked him to stop and turn around slowly. The other police and Airport Security personnel who were looking out for Pankaj turned around hearing Shakthi’s cry. But they didn’t know how to react or whom to chase.

Shakthi kept charging at the guy in blue jean. Shakthi saw the man’s face as he turned back. It was not Pankaj! Or had he disguised himself like that? But what the man did next confirmed his identity. Shakthi was preparing himself for a flying tackle. But the man’s action made Shakthi change plans.

Pankaj realized he was caught. He had no time to plan his escape. There was pandemonium as people tried to get out of the place. Pankaj’s only opportunity to escape was to use the people as his cover. But there were far too many policemen whose attack he could never escape. He told himself not to go down without a fight.

Pankaj twisted the top of his walker and pulled out its top part which resembled a police’s ‘lathi’. Swung lifted it and held it above his head ready to crash it into Shakthi’s face.

Shakthi saw what Pankaj did. His instincts took over again. He bent to his right and side stepped at the last instant, turned around in a flash and lifted Pankaj slightly holding him by his armpit. Having lost balance, Pankaj’s weapon clattered to the ground. Shakthi attacked Pankaj’s legs with his legs and as Pankaj began to fall, Shakthi slammed the ‘muscle’ man’s head on the desk. He let out a groan and fell to the ground. Pankaj was unconscious with a big bruise to his right temple that continued to swell every second. Shakthi had done it! What started violently had ended violently.
